We’re looking for an engineering manager who still ships. You’d lead a small team of senior engineers across one or two client engagements, owning both delivery and the people doing it.
What you’d do
- Run delivery for an engagement: scope, sequencing, and the hard tradeoff calls.
- Coach senior engineers — code review for craft, not gating; grow people.
- Stay close to the code; pair on hard problems and carry part of an on-call rotation.
- Talk directly with the client’s product and engineering leadership.
What we look for
- 7+ years building software, including 2+ leading engineers.
- Still hands-on in a modern web stack (Rails/Hotwire or comparable).
- Strong written communication — you can explain a decision to a CTO and a junior.
- Judgment about when to add process and when to remove it.
