Senior Rails Engineer

We’re looking for a senior Rails engineer to join a small team working on long-running client engagements — primarily insurance and SaaS platforms in production for years.

What you’d do

• Own features end-to-end on a single client engagement: design, build, test, review, deploy, monitor.
• Talk directly with the client’s product and engineering leadership. No layers of project management.
• Improve the application’s reliability and performance, not just its feature surface.
• Pair on hard problems with other senior engineers.
• Carry an on-call rotation for a production application you helped build.

What we look for

Must have:

• 5+ years building Rails applications in production
• Comfortable in Postgres, Redis, Sidekiq / Solid Queue, and modern Hotwire (Turbo + Stimulus)
• Strong testing discipline (RSpec or Minitest — either is fine)
• Production debugging experience: you’ve found and fixed a real performance regression
• Clear written communication

Nice to have:

• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS or Azure; Terraform a plus)
• Insurance domain or other regulated-industry experience
• Open-source contributions

• Code review for craft and architecture, not gating
• Observability tuned per application; production behavior drives the next decision
• Two timezones (San Ramon + Bengaluru), with a US engagement lead

Compensation

• India: ₹25–45 LPA depending on level and location, plus health coverage and PTO.
• US-remote: equivalent USD range, plus health and PTO.
